From the perspective of a writer and a painter, Patti finds the intrigue of tangles and the appearance of chaos to be an accurate metaphor reflecting the course of our human lives. Her work incorporates a visual dialogue upon Grafix matte translucent drafting film, wood panel, and canvas revealed through the addition of wax pencil, acrylic paint, erasure, and mono-printing techniques. Her childhood was spent absorbing and unfolding within the milieu of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. She graduated with a BFA from James Madison University, immersed in painting, printmaking, and alternative processes in photography, all of which remain and inform her practice. She live and works in Arizona and New York with her spirited mini-dachshund.
