Argos/Swimming The Night Sea

Argos is from The Odyssey. His story is one of abandonment and loyalty. He was Ulysses dog.

When Ulysses sailed off to war everyone forgot about Argos - who waited outside the gates of the city where he could see his masters ship upon its return.

By the time Ulysses returns  (10 years later) Argos has been relegated to the trash heap- starving and covered in fleas.

Ulysses sees Argos  but does not recognize him , and walks past what was once his beautiful hound. Argos recognizes his masters voice , lifts his head , wags his tail once and dies.
