i was born in oregon and raised in nebraska. I have lived in several other places. since I was a little girl, I have been fascinated with landscapes. by far, my favorite view is the stark landscape of the plains. the colors, the softness, the expanse…indicate to me..freedom and beauty at their height. it is my hope to reflect the sense of freedom, wonder, and hope I observed in landscape as a child. the starkness of the landscape of the plains also heightens the senses to variations in texture…which also fascinate me. i am intrigued by the way the light hits different textures and makes them stand out. these two elements are reflected again and again in my work.
